optimized procedure published as NREL/TP-510-42618.7,8 This procedure enables the determination of cellulose and hemicellulose based on their monomeric compounds. Lignin can be calculated as acid-soluble lignin (ASL) and as acid-insoluble lignin (AIL). Due to the different chemical structures and polarities, the biomass-derived
The total composition analysis of biomass was also conducted using the standard NREL method (NREL/TP-510-42618) for comparison. The total composition analysis of the biomass indicates the dominance of cellulose (Fig. 3 c) and confirms the earlier observations that cellulose dominates hemicelluloses by nearly twofold, and that the lignin content

Hemicellulose content in the gramineous plants were determined according to the NREL/TP-510-42618 [6], as shown in Table 1. In brief, a sample of 0.3 g dry biomass was hydrolyzed at 30 °C with 3.0 mL H 2 SO 4 (72 %, w/v) for 1 h. Then 84 mL of deionized water were added, and a second hydrolysis was carried out by autoclaving at 121 °C for 1 h.
