The world-leading, single-site solar power plant will power almost 200,000 homes and eliminate over 2.4 million tonnes of carbon emissions every year. During construction, almost 4 million bi-facial solar panels were
The first phase of Turkey''s biggest solar plant, the Karapinar Solar Power Plant (SPP), has been finalized with panel installation totaling 271 megawatts of capacity, the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez said Friday.
Yazici Steel S420N steel (a subsidiary of Diler Holding), Türkiye''s long material manufacturer, decided to build a 47 MWe solar power plant in Afiyon, western Türkiye, to reduce energy
In 2023, Türkiye installed 2 GW of new solar power plants. However, the country needs to double its current solar power plant installation rate by two and a half times and install 5.3 GW in the next two years alone in
A sharp drop in the cost of solar technology coupled with an increasing demand for renewable energy means that solar power is now the fastest-growing energy source in the world. Solar capacity has grown 27 times over the last decade
Statkraft is a leading company in hydropower internationally and Europe''s largest generator of renewable energy. The Group produces hydropower, wind power, solar power, gas-fired power and supplies district heating. Statkraft is a global
A large solar power plant has been built in Dağbeli, on the outskirts of Antalya, Turkey, to provide free energy to the local farmers. The whole region is a crucial hub for fruit and vegetable production both for the domestic and export markets.
Furthermore, it contributes significantly to Türkiye’s solar energy capacity, resulting in a 15% growth, while also preventing approximately 1.7 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
The solar panels in the facility come from Türkiye’s first integrated solar ingot-wafer-module-cell production factory in Ankara, which was established by Kalyon Solar Energy Technologies Production Company and started production in August 2020.
"Today Turkey ranks 13th globally and seventh in Europe with 7,154 MW of solar capacity. Hopefully, these numbers will increase every year," he said. The SCADA facility, the foundation of which has been laid today, marks a milestone in localizing energy technologies in Turkey, Donmez said.
The Antalya region accounts for one fifth of Turkish fruit and vegetable exports and is being reinvigorated by solar power. A large solar power plant has been built in Dağbeli, on the outskirts of Antalya, Turkey, to provide free energy to the local farmers.
The company also plans to produce its own wafers in the near future. Elin Energy brand Sirius and Schmid Penkintas are pursuing domestic cell and wafer production ambitions too. Onshoring these key stages in the solar module supply chain looks like the next big step for PV manufacturing in Türkiye.
