The majority of current developments in China have taken place in relatively shallow water and close to shore. The offshore wind farms are located on the continental shelf, about 10–20 km off the coast in water depths of about 0–25 m. Offshore wind turbines need to be supported by strong foundation embedded in the seabed.
The industrial park, with a total investment of 4 billion yuan (about 557.7 million U.S. dollars), is the first full-industry-chain offshore wind power industrial park in China. [Photo/Xinhua]
